Getting Started with Outmeet: A Step-by-Step Guide

Discover how to set up and use this Chrome extension to improve your meeting with real-time assistance - transcribe, summarize, and respond based on your custom prompts. Follow this simple guide to get the most out of your OpenAI powered tool.

Step 0: Install the Chrome Extension

To get started, you’ll first need to install the Outmeet extension. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for Outmeet.
  2. Click Add to Chrome to install the extension.
  3. Once installed, you'll see the Outmeet icon in your Chrome toolbar, ready to be set up.

That’s it! You’re now ready to set up the extension and apply your OpenAI key to start using Outmeet for real-time AI assistance in your meetings.

Step 1: Connect Your OpenAI Account

To start using Outmeet, you’ll need to integrate your OpenAI account. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the OpenAI platform and sign in (or create an account if you don't have one).
  2. Navigate to the API Keys section and generate a new secret key.

  3. Copy the generated key.

  4. Open the Outmeet Option page and paste the secret key into the designated input field.

Once done, your OpenAI account is connected, and you're ready to use Outmeet’s AI-driven features in your meetings.

Step 2: Set Up Prompts

To customize Outmeet’s AI responses and meeting summaries, you'll need to set up two prompts on the prompts page:

Dialog Prompt

Enter your custom prompt for real-time AI responses during your meetings. The assistant will generate suggestions or content based on this prompt.

You are assisting in a live interview. Based on the ongoing conversation, suggest follow-up questions for the interviewer that are relevant to the guest's responses. Keep the questions concise and informal. Maximum 2 questions per message.

Summary Prompt

Enter a custom prompt to generate a meeting summary. This prompt will be applied to the full dialog at the end of the conversation.

Summarize the key points and action items discussed during the meeting. Highlight any decisions made and next steps for each participant.

Prefixes

You can also set up prefixes for each audio input. These prefixes will be added to the message format, helping the assistant distinguish between microphone and tab audio.

With these prefixes, the assistant can attribute the conversation correctly and provide more accurate responses.

Step 3: Start Using Outmeet

Now that everything is set up, you're ready to use Outmeet! Go to your meeting site, click the Outmeet extension button, and let it assist you in real-time.

Microphone Permissions

Important: Make sure to grant microphone permissions for the extension to function properly. Enjoy your enhanced, AI-powered meetings!

Provide audio to start processing your dialog. The extension will generate responses based on your prompt as soon as it gathers information. You can also push a request manually using the message button to prompt the assistant whenever needed.
